MediTEX Technology is an antimicrobial, antibacterial and odor-resistant Solutions company which specializes in the development, manufacturing and marketing of antimicrobial, antibacterial textiles for the government, healthcare & commercial industry. MediTEX mission is to be an integral part of the comprehensive antimicrobial solutions necessary to prevent the spread of bacteria.
A recent University of Maryland research study revealed that 65% of medical personnel reported that they change their lab coats less than once a week, and a surprising 15% admitted they change their lab coats less than once a month. It’s not surprising that a staggering 97% of healthcare workers agreed that they are concerned about the presence of bacteria in healthcare facilities like theirs, as well as on medical textiles. Now, healthcare workers and patients can have greater peace of mind knowing that their medical textiles feature Microban antimicrobial protection that inhibits the growth of odor causing bacteria on the fabric, keeping MediTEX textiles cleaner and fresher.

Microban protection penetrates the cell wall of the microbe and disrupts key cell functions so that microbes cannot function, grow or reproduce. This information is based upon standard laboratory tests and is provided for comparative purposes to substantiate antimicrobial activity for non-public health applications.
Microban technology keeps textiles fresher by inhibiting the growth of odor causing bacteria. In a recent laboratory test, an unprotected fabric sample and a fabric sample with Microban antimicrobial protection were both inoculated with odor causing bacteria. The fabric sample with Microban protection measured 250 times less malodor than the unprotected fabric sample.
Microban antimicrobial protection works 24/7 even between launderings, protecting fabrics from the damaging effects of microbes. Protection that can help extend the lifetime of healthcare textiles.
AATCC Test Method 100
This test evaluates the ability of the product to reduce individual populations of selected strains of bacteria exposed to treated surface. The results are expressed as the reductions in the number of bacteria applied to samples as they dwell in contact over a specified period, typically 18 to 24 hours.
Reduction values are most meaningful when compared between treated materials and identical materials that are untreated. Other valid comparisons may be performed between treated materials and specimens of a reference material known to allow bacterial growth to occur. These are referred to as Positive Growth Controls (PGCs).
76% of the energy consumed during the lifetime of a textile is due to laundering. MediTEX products stay cleaner and fresher longer. This reduces the frequency of laundering and the energy consumption needed for the textile.
